Who are we - Ko Te Taurapa Tūhono tēnei:
Te Taurapa Tūhono | New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is the government agency charged with helping New Zealand businesses to grow internationally. By supporting New Zealand businesses, we boost New Zealand's economy and reputation, and help to share what is special about New Zealand with the rest of the world.

What you'll be doing - Te whakamahere:
Our Finance team has an aspiration to create a stronger, more agile, and more connected finance function for NZTE. We will do this by shifting from back office to front office and truly earn the "title" of partner to our organisation.

In this dynamic and varied Finance Business Partner role, you will work closely with the CFO to front foot the financial strategy across NZTE and act as a trusted partner to a portfolio of NZ and International stakeholders. You will do this by completing the analysis of and delivering insights on complex financial relationships to the stakeholders of your portfolio's, to help support real-time decision making on business strategies with the end goal of improving our financial environment.

You will also be a natural stakeholder relationship builder as you will partner with stakeholders to provide financial support, financial coaching, insights, reporting and feedback as required. You will get involved in supporting the CFO in the development of financial acumen and implementing process improvements across NZTE to further build out capability, including being responsible for evaluating current financial procedures and practices to see if they are still future-fit.

What you'll need to be successful - Ō Pūkenga:
You will be an accounting subject matter expert with experience across both technical and business partnering roles, where you possess the ability to jump in boots and all, and not be afraid to get your hands dirty if needed. You will be a Chartered Accountant and versed in the financial needs of fast-moving organisations.

You will be an engaging communicator where you will adeptly develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders across NZTE. This strong interpersonal aptitude and your continuous improvement mindset will allow you to focus on what's important, eliminate roadblocks and capitalise on opportunities to simplify systems/process and collaborate on best practice.

You will possess sound Microsoft Office skills and be particularly well-versed in MS Excel and PowerBI, experience with Adaptive insights (BFF) is an advantage. It's an exciting time to join the team at NZTE, where pace and delivery and attention to detail are the key to success. You will be action orientated and enjoy owning projects end to end and be someone that does what you say you are going to do!
