Te tūranga - The role

The policy projects team will have a key role in the legislative process and subsequent implementation of the new Deposit Takers Act (DTA). The team will be an 'agile' team contributing to priority programmes of work (including policy development and analysis) across the Financial Stability Group.

As an Adviser, you will be responsible for contributing to the leadership of the team and its work agenda. This will include significant project management and stakeholder relationship management, as well as taking a technical lead in policy and implementation work.

You will be required to provide technical leadership, guidance, mentoring and support to Analysts and Senior Analysts in the team.

Ō pūkenga - About you

You're passionate, experienced and have a strong understanding of prudential regulation, the legislative process, and the relationship between the RBNZ as prudential regulator and other parts of Government. You'll have strong analytical, conceptual and interpersonal skills. You know how to build strong working relationships and take people on the journey with you.

You'll also bring the following:

  • A post-graduate degree in economics, finance, law or a related discipline
  • At least six years' professional experience within the relevant fields of economic and/or financial sector policy
  • The ability to identify policy relevant issues, shape analytical work accordingly, and thereby influence the views of colleagues and senior managers
  • Excellent, oral and written communications, including the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely
