We now have an exciting opportunity for a HR Business Partner (internally known as a Leadership Advisor) to join our advisory team that is at the heart of guiding NZTE's people to thrive and deliver on our purpose.

What you'll be doing | Te whakamahere
As a Leadership Advisor you'll act as a trusted advisor to our General Managers (GM's) and Regional Directors (RD's) by coaching, mentoring, challenging, and inspiring them to continue to be brilliant leaders of our people. You will guide them in developing strategic people plans, embedding new operational models within your portfolios and providing day-to-day high level generalist HR advice and support.

You'll also be responsible for:

  • Working with each of your portfolio's to deeply understand their business group and the challenges that they face to help contribute to their strategy, direction, and leadership
  • Diagnosing future people and capability requirements and help build a forward workforce plan for the Group.
  • Providing expert advice for our GM's/RD's when managing difficult issues or change processes
  • Working with the people leaders in your portfolios to help manage people issues

This is a fast paced, autonomous, and detail-oriented role where you will support our Leaders to be the best they can be. You'll be curious, collaborative, able to work in the grey and be able to adapt your communication style to your audience to instinctively deliver advice in a visually compelling and accurate way.

What you'll need to be successful | Ō Pūkenga
You'll be an experienced HR Practitioner, with strong ER, legislation and coaching knowledge who has experience in working with senior leaders. Ideally, you'll have worked in an innovative, collaborative, and progressive place where you've learnt how to push the boundaries and aim high. You will have sound operational experience including an understanding of the importance of maintaining attention to detail, combined with the ability to think holistically and strategically in how to add value to the leaders you work with.

You'll understand how a connected and collaborative team who offer a seamless level of support can ensure a business grows and thrives. You will be confident and credible, and comfortable building relationships with a range of leaders, both in person and remotely. It would be advantageous if you have any experience with providing people advisory services from an international point of view.
