About the Role:

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role leads a diverse range of support functions including: community relations, human resources, health & safety, democracy services, te pou takawaenga and customer services.

This will involve:

  • Leading the strategy for communications and internal and external stakeholder engagement in alignment with Council priorities; and
  • Fostering a constructive relationship with the tangata whenua of the city, and ensuring the organisation communicates and engages effectively with the community.

Skills and Experience:

  • Senior management level experience in leading the delivery of corporate services functions ideally with a communications background.
  • Astute commercial acumen and strategic antennae.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving effective stakeholder communications and engagement in large, complex environments.
  • Exceptional relationship building and influencing skills across a diverse group of stakeholders.
