This leading indie is looking for a new Creative Director to join the team. Ideally, you come from a writing background have some solid creative jobs across SME business- 360 advertising campaigns and know your way around an outstanding campaign idea and a decent headline or two.

The role –
The Creative Director (copy) plays a key role in the vision and strategy for the growth of the creative department and providing creative leadership for the agency. They ensure an environment that motivates the creative department to deliver best-in-class, innovative creative work. 
They are responsible for the creative management of a portfolio of brands and their creative output, creative pro-activity, and business success. They recruit, manage, lead and inspire creative professionals of all levels within the agency, including Art Directors, Copywriters and Designers.
We embrace a flat structure and really aren’t interested in traditional advertising hierarchy. They lead from the centre of the team, not from above. They’re hands-on and on-tools where required and are not above playing support to their team when it’s required. They believe authentic creative collaboration is more powerful and yields better results than creating a culture of competition between creatives and creative teams.

The CD (copy) shares creative leadership responsibilities and internal team resourcing and management with the Lead Creative. They are jointly responsible for the development of insights-driven creative concepts and content and for developing compelling stories and a unique voice for our client brands and campaigns, including brand messaging, copy, and content for scripted and unscripted short-form, long-form content. They work closely and consistently with Strategy and Account Services to ensure innovative solutions with seamless delivery. 
Key responsibilities –

  • Develop compelling stories and insights-driven creative concepts for campaigns, including brand messaging, copy, and content for scripted and unscripted short-form, long-form content.
  • Monitor overall quality of agency creative output providing direction and leadership
  • Manage client relationships directly and ensure achievement of their business goals
  • Establish messaging and tone of concepts and/or communications
  • Provides clear direction to teams on their creative work, ensuring that it meets client’s goals and strategies

Knowledge and Skills –

  • Has an extensive and highly-awarded portfolio of work that addresses complex storytelling challenges across marketing, brand and advertising content
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, able to speak effectively & persuasively both internally/externally
  • Prepares and delivers presentations representing the creative with in-depth knowledge of why choices are being made
  • Contributes to and fosters a growing library of knowledge around creative copy and ideation
  • Provides insight and analysis of trends and projections in all communications channels
  • Stewards career management and individual mentorship to their team across all skill levels
  • Ensures strong morale through positive and open communication and team leadership
  • Must have 8+ years in a creative copy focussed role in an advertising agency including 4 years in a management position
  • Strong management experience including major and multiple client relationship and campaign
