Senior Structural Engineer

The Senior Structural Engineer we are seeking is passionate, has an eye on the future and wants to be involved with a world-class project that will help New Zealanders access renewable electricity and to deliver engineering services and work with GRIT’s brownfields projects in the Taupō / Rotorua area.

The Challenge

• Work closely with clients to understand/assess project requirements and ensure needs are met.
• Carry out structural integrity condition assessments, fitness for service and engineering risk assessments as well as quality control and construction monitoring inspections.
• Develop and review project-specific specifications, quality control requirements and compliance documentation.
• Solve problems on-site during construction to best practice and value standards.
• Deliver on time on budget outstanding results.
• Represent GRIT’s best interests and build trust and credibility with our project partners.

Your Skills

• Proven experience working on major Industrial / Infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience designing/troubleshooting structural engineering issues on site.
• Experience with design of concrete and steel structures.
• Ability to self-motivate and work with a remote team.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• Have a minimum of 6 years’ experience and ideally hold CPEng or be working towards it.
• Have proficient technical ability and comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand standards.
