We are a socially driven university with equity and excellence central to our purpose and actions, and we offer a stimulating teaching and research environment with strong connections to government, business, industry and the professions.  AUT has over 29,000 students and around 4,000 staff across our three teaching campuses and is located in Aotearoa's largest city, Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland - consistently ranked as one of the world's most liveable cities.

AUT's new Vice-Chancellor has a clear vision expressed through the cornerstone Ki Uta Ki Tai Student Success Plan which will ensure a shared, cohesive approach for the University to achieve its commitments and ambitions for student success, inclusion and belonging.  Our law school is committed to this inspirational vision.

The Law School, which is part of AUT's Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, is Aotearoa's newest and arguably, its most contemporary - blending traditional legal education and focus on legal theory with a strong practical application. AUT law graduates are highly sought after by law firms, business, community organisations and other employers. Established in 2009, the School has grown significantly in size and stature. We have over 25 committed and passionate staff who are dedicated to providing an excellent learning experience for our incredibly diverse student community, whilst maintaining a focus on high-quality research that has genuine impact and makes significant ongoing contributions to Aotearoa's policies and legal frameworks.  We focus on high quality, innovative teaching with authentic practice-based assessment which prepares our graduates for the workplace and provides opportunities for postgraduate study. As a School, we are an open, collegial group and support the growth of our people. We teach at both AUT's City and South campuses.
