
Programme Development Lead
The opportunity
The purpose of the position Programme Development Lead is to develop a fully optimised programme of works that will support the effective and efficient delivery of Wellington Water's defined outcomes. You will ensure that the programme of works align with the Strategic Asset Management Plan and operational requirements.
You will work collaboratively with the Network Strategy and Planning Group, and Network Engineering, Programme Delivery, Major Projects teams and our Consultant and Contractor Panels to ensure the programme is robust and suitably flexible to respond to changes in priorities and constraints, including scope, resources and efficiency levers. You will work with the rest of the Programme Practice team to support the development of a positive and high-performance team culture of programme delivery through our supply chain whanau.

About you
That you possess Project or Programme Management experience and qualifications that include complex infrastructure related projects. That you lead the development of the delivery programmes from strategy, planning through to delivery. That you implement processes, practices and tools that will robustly challenge any needs and solutions prior to their acceptance into a programme.
You take a collaborative approach, and ensuring efficiencies are leveraged. That you understand investment drivers, and community engagement activities and sensitivities. That you provide information that supports business case approvals. That you effectively manage risks and explore opportunities that present themselves.
Your work reflects a continuous improvement philosophy. That you enjoy taking initiatives to find and solve problems that could improve the business at both the strategic level, and in the operational detail.
About our team
The Programme Practice team provides a full suite of support functions and delivery processes, policies and procedures to ensure practice excellence for the capital programme.
Their specialist services are delivered internally to programmes and projects including Major Projects, Programme Delivery, Design team, Network Engineering, Network Management Group and the Customer Operations Group. They also work across our supplier whanau to build consistency and quality of our project delivery.
