Big River Group is an ASX listed company with over 100 years of manufacturing and distributing plywood and other products now with 12 distribution branches throughout Australia. Big River Group has two companies in New Zealand, Plytech and Décortech.  Plytech is an import specialist of plywood-based products from all over the world for distribution throughout New Zealand. Décortech is the market leader in decorative, acoustic and fire-resistant wall and ceiling panels, offering fully customised solutions to individual designs.

Big River is now seeking a Company Accountant to cover the financial and management accountant for both New Zealand companies.

Role

As the Company Accountant, you will provide the accurate and timely financial management reporting and analysis, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the integrity of transactional processing and GL.
  • Preparation of monthly management reports and annual budgets.
  • Monitoring monthly performance against budget.
  • Preparation of tax compliance & cashflow.
  • Analysing current operating performance, using previous and estimated costs to assist management in determining potential operating performance given projected cost guidelines.

Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a similar industry, including inventory
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact
  • Proficiency in excel
