New Zealand’s Financial Markets Authority (FMA) is embarking on an exciting new future – and it could mean a new start for you back home. You’ll be helping New Zealanders to have confidence that our financial sector provides a strong foundation for their financial future.

As an organisation, we have an expanding remit that will cover new regulatory ground within the banking and insurance sectors. Your expertise will help us shape this new environment; and build confidence, participation and efficiency in New Zealand’s financial markets.

So what’s it like to work at the FMA?

It’s purposeful. Our mission is to create a fair and transparent financial sector that serves all New Zealanders. We are looking for people with a strong sense of collaboration and fair play.

It’s stimulating. We need to be thinkers and initiators. We’re looking for team players with the drive, skills, intellect and forward thinking to stay ahead in this fast-moving sector.

It’s supportive. We have a culture that allows everyone to bring their best selves to work. We value people with ambition, open-mindedness and a strong orientation towards helping others.

We also have a fresh focus: to have a positive impact on the lives of all New Zealanders. We’re looking to achieve great things and we need great people on board. We’ll support you as you get up to speed on the current regulatory environment here, while embracing your unique perspective. We have roles across a range of skills and professional backgrounds, from conduct risk experts to behavioural scientists, economists and financial futurists.

Does your background fit?

Regulatory supervision, conduct risk management, auditing body, banking and insurance people who have conduct risk experience, legal regulatory and/or enforcement experience, regtech/fintech innovation, behavioural science as it applies to risk management and conduct, economist - macro and/or micro.

Our approach to work/life balance will also give you ample time to make the most of being back in this beautiful country.

By fostering fair, efficient and transparent financial markets – our role (and yours) is to ensure better outcomes for investors, consumers, and the New Zealand economy.

There’s no better time to come home – talk to us about how we can help you make that happen!

A great place to work. With great work to do.
