What you’ll be doing - Te whakamahere 

In this crucial position, you will be focusing on contributing to and upholding testing principles, seamlessly integrating them into our agile processes to enhance our digital offerings. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine testing practices, crafting detailed test cases, and meticulously executing and maintaining these tests to ensure our products perform well. Your focus will be on increasing test coverage, a reduction in bugs, capturing issues early and ensuring the delivery of flawless digital experiences to our users. 

  

Your expertise will play a vital role in contributing to the review and enhancement of test procedures, developing robust tests, and documenting the outcomes. As a problem-solver, you will detect, log, and report bugs, tracking them to their root cause and aiding in the troubleshooting process. Your success will be marked by your ability to embed testing principles deeply within our agile framework, prioritize testing efforts effectively, and identify usability issues proactively. 

 

What you'll need to be successful - Ō Pūkenga 

We're looking for a Test Engineer with strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities. In this role, you’ll need a solid background in test automation software such as Cypress or Playwright, and a working knowledge of programming languages like TypeScript or Node.js.  

 

Your experience in conducting comprehensive testing, including integration and regression testing, will ensure functionality and compliance with business requirements. You'll create essential test deliverables, from strategies and plans to scripts and scenarios, all while working within an Agile environment. 

You will have a customer-centric approach as you will be working with internal and external stakeholders. We value technical proficiency, particularly in Azure DevOps for integrating quality into build pipelines and analyzing application logs. Above all, your interpersonal skills, clear communication, and ability to establish strong collaborative relationships will set you apart as a Test Automation Engineer at NZTE.
