What will you be doing?

You will be part of our cross-functional, agile development team working in our Engage Line of Business. This team is responsible for developing solutions that empower patients to engage meaningfully in their own healthcare.

You will be immersed in a culture of collaboration, learning and software engineering excellence that will equip you with the skills to become a successful Senior Software Engineer. In the exciting ever evolving world of digital healthcare, the way patient electronic health records are shaped, managed and shared needs to meet new standards. With a strong focus on accessibility, customisation and quality our patient applications and interoperable APIs are constantly evolving to meet our customers needs.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

• be engaged with all aspects of development right from design, to delivery and support
• be fully involved with helping to steer best practices and approaches adopted by the team
• have the ability to think creatively and be confident in making suggestions
• develop solid and well-structured software that will play a key role in the successful delivery of the solution
• get the opportunity to participate in the way patients are engaged in an open healthcare ecosystem, with the chance to be exposed directly to stakeholders

What will you bring to the role?

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience with a solid understanding of software architecture and software design with demonstrated ability to analyse, design, troubleshoot and modify complex software products.
• Skills: Proficiency in modern Javascript frameworks such as React or Vue is a must, with a preference for experience of Java.  Experience with databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, working with cloud-based technology (eg. AWS) and testing framework experience such as Jest is a bonus.
• Characteristics: Great team player and communicator, comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. Inquisitive, detailed oriented and with a problem-solving mindset. Proactive and confident in working independently. The ability to mentor and grow junior developers.
