What will you be doing?

A Senior Software Engineer in the Analytics team at Orion Health holds a unique and well-developed blend of skills covering software and data engineering practices. Working with a market-leading analytics solution, you would contribute to the analysis, design and development of high performing integration services, automations, data pipelines and a data warehouse. The role is ultimately about creating value and insights from data, turning data into valuable information to assist clinicians, management and health funders make better decisions in improving population health, patient experience and in reducing costs.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Orion Health, you will bring a breadth and depth of knowledge across software development and data management tools/techniques, with a demonstrable understanding of data and business domains. You will be confident with agile practices and dealing with constant change. As a senior, you will be a seasoned expert in the field whose experience, defined leadership and great communications skills which will make you a valuable asset to the business and a mentor for your peers.

As a Senior Analytics Software Engineer, you will:

• Engage with product managers and services team to understand business problems and objectives
• Design and develop web applications, integration services and automations
• Build scalable and performant data pipelines and data warehouse
• Deliver solutions and support customers across the globe.

What will you bring to the role?

• Experience: You will have 6+ years experience in software and data development. Health industry and/or health informatics experience is preferred however not necessary. Knowledge on e-health data exchange standards (HL7v2, FHIR and HIPAA etc) is desirable.
• Skills: You must be highly proficient with Java, Python, React and SQL, including ETL/ELT processes using Oracle and SQL Server. Your other skills should include Ansible, Tableau plus AWS infrastructure and applications. Knowledge on Apache Spark and cloud data warehouse is highly desirable.
• Characteristics: You will have an inquisitive, detail-oriented and problem-solving mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills. Being a great team player with a knack for mentoring is a must!
• Education: You will have a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Health Informatics.
