Who are we?

Not only is water our most precious resource but it's a hot topic in the Wellington region and nationally.

As a trusted advisor to the region's Councils, we partner with the community, engineering consultants and contractors to deliver drinking water, wastewater and storm water services from source to sea.

Where you come in

As Principal Engineer Network Engineering (Drinking Water), you will take a guiding role on network projects, supporting the Network Engineering team to deliver them and lending your technical expertise to complex issues. Acting as client project sponsor, you will ensure strategic outcomes are delivered. You will review work and provide technical guidance across the business and to the wider industry at a regional/national level.

Being a Principal Engineer is more than being technically capable. You will be a team player who is confident collaborating and in mentoring and leading others

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • 15+ years' engineering experience at a senior level and be recognised as an expert in water engineering
  • Experience with water supply engineering design, bulk water supply, storage, pumping, reticulation, source water management and water treatment
  • The ability to solve complex engineering problems
  • Strong technical knowledge in Drinking Water engineering
  • Good understanding of drinking water quality requirements, structural and non-structural solutions, water supply modelling process, consenting requirements and meeting climate change challenges

The ideal candidate will be able to take strategy and turn it into activities that deliver the right outcomes for the region, have strong analytical skills and the ability to manage data to inform and make meaningful decisions.
