Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Department is seeking to appoint a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Finance. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong research potential, as well as a commitment to excellent research-informed teaching that is enhanced by appropriate learning technologies.

Candidates with expertise in all areas of finance or financial economics are welcome to apply. We particularly seek candidates working in the areas of asset pricing, corporate finance, financial intermediation, fin-tech, climate finance, and macro-finance. All applications should provide the selection committee with:

  • A cover letter and curriculum vitae
  • A statement and substantiation of your teaching philosophy
  • Any teaching evaluations
  • A statement of your research program, with a full publication record.

This is a fulltime (40 hours per week), permanent opportunity. 
The remuneration is $94,981 - $138,721

The Department of Accounting & Finance is one of the largest Departments in the University. It has a strong research culture and comprehensive teaching programmes at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Faculty members are active in publishing in leading international peer-reviewed journals, attracting external grants, supervising doctoral students, and maintaining links with the profession, industry, and government.

The Department is seeking to appoint a full-time Lecturer (i.e. tenure-track Assistant Professor) or Senior Lecturer in Finance. Suitably qualified applicants working more broadly in financial economics or macro-finance are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong research potential, as well as a commitment to excellent research-informed teaching that is enhanced by appropriate learning technologies.
