Electronic Trading Systems Engineer

Rapid Addition New Zealand is looking for a talented senior technical business analyst to work with with our global electronic trading systems technical team. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional client experience by configuring, deploying, and supporting the Rapid Addition electronic trading framework. There is plenty going on, with existing and upcoming deployments of our software and hardware products re-engineering global trading systems at scale.

You will have the choice of a hybrid or office based working environment, training, and study opportunities; our core development centre is in Prague so you will travel there to upskill. New Zealand is a greenfield location for us, and we are looking for looking for people who want to be part of building the business here, and as we grow there will be opportunities to grow along with us.

You

8+ years of experience configuring, deploying, and supporting complex systems preferably trading connectivity and messaging related, and some experience or interest in electronic trading use cases. A background in financial services, messaging systems, the FIX protocol, SWIFT, EDI or trading message workflows especially equities and foreign exchange is highly desirable.

You will provide support & professional services to our clients and as a collaborative team player, you’ll work with our talented core development team to help shape service and product improvements, continuing our growth and success with the biggest names in global financial services.

Required

• At least 8 years’ experience in the configuration, deployment, upgrading and support of complex systems such as electronic trading platforms or similar
• The ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience and skills in Service and Support systems e.g. 4me, JIRA Service Desk, Confluence
• Familiarity with, and ability to work within a structured support framework
• Technical documentation skills
• Automated software testing experience
• Scripting skill and experience with Java or a similar language
• Unix / bash skills
• Articulate and well-spoken English language skills with excellent phone and email etiquette
• Team player with good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• Able to train technical staff

Nice to have

• Ideally you will have financial markets trading technology experience offshore and domain knowledge of capital markets and trading across multiple asset classes
• In depth knowledge of the FIX messaging protocol versions 4.2 – 5.0
• Transport protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP
• gRPC, Kafka or similar
• Deployment of trading solutions and changes including workflow definitions in trading connectivity platforms such as Fidessa, ATR, IRESS
• Configuration, scripting, creation of deployment packages
• DevOps workflows and tools
• Cloud skills in AWS and Azure
