Beef Lamb New Zealand ‘s vision is for sustainable and profitable farmers and thriving farming communities, valued by New Zealanders. Its purpose is to deliver insights and actions that drive tangible impact for farmers. This means the role of Chief Insight Officer is at the very heart of its success.
The Chief Insight Officer will co-design, develop and deliver a cross-organisational insights programme. They will be a key thought leader and be the eyes and ears for the organisation and industry. Their insights strategy will support B LNZ policy positions and make sure they are backed by hard data and sound analysis.
What you will do
In this role you will:
- Build an organisation-wide insights strategy that
- Identifies emerging risks and opportunities
- Positions the sector as a thought leader on key issues
- Enhances the ability to influence policy positions.
- Builds trust and reputation for the sector
- Collaborate and build partnerships both internally and externally to identify these insight needs and help deliver on them
- Commission or undertake research that fits within the overall strategy
- Lead the distillation and dissemination of results so they are easy to understand and compelling
- Act as a spokesperson and engage with the media.
What you will bring
You will have:
- A thorough understanding of research design, data and methodologies and significant experience in commissioning or undertaking research to build sound arguments and influence thinking
- Experience in co-designing a strategy and its execution
- The ability to translate findings into a story that is understandable and compelling
- Great communication skills, strongly collaborative and customer driven
- A strategic mindset, constantly keeping up with current and future policies, practices and trends affecting the sector
- Concise and hard-hitting report writing skills with a focus on deliverables and the ability to project manage them through to completion.
- Most likely a statistics, economics or science qualification or significant experience applying these skills in a research context.
