Chief Economist

As the first Chief Economist at New Zealand's Financial Markets Authority (FMA), you will play a pivotal role in supporting New Zealanders to have confidence that the financial sector provides a strong foundation for their financial future.

We are a growing organisation, with an expanding regulatory remit. A strong economics foundation will underpin the approach to our expanding remit and our role as a conduct regulator so that we can build confidence, participation and efficiency in New Zealand's financial markets.

How often do you get the opportunity to build a new function and the way an organisation thinks and operates? We will support you to develop an economics team and embed the use of economics across our organisation. We will champion you to help us to become an even better regulator.
