ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting role available for an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst & Developer who would be required to have an advanced level of SQL Application Development using MySQL to be able to manage and consolidate disparate data sources. There is definitely scope for growth here with an invitation to train in data engineering if so desired. Some JavaScript would be helpful from time to time. We use a lot of Python to get the data, so an understanding here would be beneficial.

 

DUTIES

  • Develop visualisations via Grafana and other related technologies
  • Create queries via MySQL stored procedures to populate Grafana reports
  • Ensuring all databases queries are optimised for performance and storage
  • Responsible for all administration, security and maintenance of Grafana

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Prioritisation and time management skills
  • This role is SQL heavy. You’ll need to understand UNIONS, functions and stored procedures. The underlying datasets are not complex in themselves, but pulling them together can be.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Power Query/Pivot for Excel and preferably reporting services
  • Great communication skills both verbal and written
  • Python experience would be useful, especially for future growth opportunities
