The University of Auckland (Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences) is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor/ Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry. 

Are you looking to further your career in Psychiatry? This part-time (0.4 FTE) academic position will ideally be combined with a part-time clinical component tailored to the successful candidate. Ideally, It will be a great opportunity for an enthusiastic psychiatrist who wants to combine a clinical appointment with a university career. This role is particularly suitable for an early—to mid-career academic psychiatrist.

This is for a Permanent part-time, 16 hours per week (0.4FTE) role.
The salary range is $120,752-$157,822 (full-time equivalent), depending upon skills and experience.

Qualifications

He kōrero mōu | About you
Candidates must hold a medical qualification registrable in New Zealand, must have a higher qualification in psychiatry equivalent to the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), and be eligible for vocational registration by the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Specialist Psychiatrist. Candidates must have experience in research and ideally hold an MD/PhD or equivalent.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential:

  • Registered with the New Zealand Medical Council.
  • Hold a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Have vocational registration in Psychiatry (FRANZCP or equivalent)
  • Hold professional liability insurance

Preferred:

  • MD/PhD Psychiatry
  • if no MD/PhD, the candidate should be prepared to undertake doctoral studies part-time if requested by and with the support of the HOD and Clinical Director of relevant service.
