About the role and team

 

Our Risk Advisory professionals take a pragmatic approach to help clients improve performance and operating efficiency through risk-based reviews. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, apply critical thinking, in an exciting and fast paced environment to deliver real value to our clients. Due to growth in the team, we are currently looking for an experienced Manager with a strong operational risk and process controls improvement background to support our public sector/government agency clients in our market leading Risk Advisory team in Wellington.

 

As a Manager, you act as a role model and lead by example for your colleagues and peers. You positively influence and develop a high-performing team, leading and supporting them to make an impact that matters, and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service. We are looking for somebody who is driven, well-rounded with a high level of energy, has the ability to think laterally and innovate, enjoy getting things done, and most importantly have a love for learning.

 

A day in the life of a Manager in the Technology, Operational and Regulatory Risk Advisory team might look like:

 

  • Providing expert review, challenge and insights to the Risk Advisory business unit.
  • Leveraging your understanding of the clients’ industry, regulatory requirements, strategy and objectives to prioritise risk events to be monitored and define risk assessment plans.
  • Working with client’s leaders to define scope, objectives and road maps for internal control assessments and design projects.
  • Having the ability to plan and execute a project to deliver a superior client experience.
  • Supporting and managing teams to deliver engagements on time and to budget.
  • Understanding complex client issues and apply problem solving techniques to provide recommendations which are not purely theoretical.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:

  • 6 -10 years’ experience in a Consulting or Advisory with a professional services and/or government agency.
  • Strong knowledge of Process Improvement and Change, Internal Audit, Risk and Governance frameworks.
  • Regulatory risk and compliance experience. Exposure to project risk an advantage.
  • Experience of managing and delivering complex reviews or assessments, internal audit, risk and governance engagements for large organisations.
  • Experience of developing junior staff and mentoring team members.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Management, Law or similar.
