The New Zealand High Commission in London is seeking to recruit a Systems Administrator responsible for providing IT systems, communications and security support for all High Commission staff and some New Zealand agencies. If you are highly skilled and experienced in IT support and data communications, and you are able to provide first and second tier support, we would like to hear from you.
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Systems Administrator is responsible for providing support relating to Information Technology (IT), MFAT communications systems and security, and official electronic devices, for all High Commission staff, to help ensure the efficient and smooth running of the High Commission.
This is an open tenure full-time role. The successful applicant is employed locally, with terms and conditions set in accordance with UK employment regulations, and must be able to obtain and maintain a New Zealand security clearance. The High Commission does not provide assistance with accommodation or airfares and applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
The starting salary is likely to be around the median of the salary range, which is £47,871, depending on the level of skills and experience of the successful applicant. Please note: If the successful candidate has worked or lived in New Zealand and is subsequently employed as locally engaged staff in a NZ Government Embassy or High Commission, they may, subject to individual circumstances, have NZ Tax Residency obligations. We advise any applicant, who may be in this situation, to discuss their tax residency status with the NZ Inland Revenue (IRD) and determine any potential personal tax obligations to IRD.

The successful applicant should have at least the following qualifications, skills and experience:
• Extensive experience of IT and premises security and communications systems environment; cabling technologies, i.e. fibre optics, data networking and communications and cryptographic equipment; Microsoft Operating systems, printers and multifunction devices; PABX systems
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in following through tasks
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships and working within a team
