About The Role
At DLA Piper New Zealand, our success depends upon our most important asset - our people.
We are looking to expand our Resource Management team. We have an opportunity available for an Solicitor / Associate to join our Auckland team. The ideal candidate will have experience in resource management and ideally some local government experience.
We have a diverse and established resource management practice, with a strong client base and a particular focus on local government and government clients. This role will provide the opportunity to undertake a variety of challenging resource management work in a supportive environment that offers professional development.
To be successful in this role you will need to have a strong client focus, as well as excellent legal, analytical and interpersonal skills that allow you to deliver commercial solutions for clients. You will ideally have had some exposure to plan changes and appeals, resource consent appeals, designations and prosecution and enforcement work. Experience working with local authorities and knowledge of the Building Act is also ideal.
Our Resource Management team offers opportunities that are somewhat unique in the market. Working in our team offers the opportunity for more regular court work than many other resource management teams. It also provides opportunities for extensive client contact and involvement in many high-profile proceedings. The team works on a truly national basis, which provides opportunity for exposure to multiple clients and partners.
If you are looking for a role that allows you to be part of a close-knit team, working in a fast-paced environment then this opportunity will appeal to you. We are looking for a practical and personable team player, who will continue to offer the high levels of service that our clients have come to expect. This means that you will be required to have outstanding organisation skills and the ability to manage your own workload. You will be highly motivated, with a mature approach to your work, an excellent role model to more junior members of the team.
At DLA Piper we invest in our people. We offer an environment where personal leadership is strong and encouragement is the norm. Our supportive and collaborative teams are solutions focused and determined to provide an outstanding service to our clients.
A career with DLA Piper New Zealand means being an integral part of an exciting team. We can offer you the opportunity to work with quality clients, talented lawyers, and provide stimulating work. If you think you have what it takes and this sounds like the opportunity you have been waiting for, we want to hear from you.
