Our Co-operative

Te Mātāpuna toa takitini

Fonterra’s strength is in the collective.

We are a Co-operative created and owned by Aotearoa New Zealand dairy farmers. Our rich history is built on farming families working together to share the natural goodness of our dairy with the world.

Collaboration, innovation, and passion was the cornerstone of our creation and something we continue to value today through our commitment to care for the land, our animals, and every drop of milk. Our milk creates goodness through nutritious food with safe, quality ingredients that are loved here in New Zealand and around the world.

Fonterra Brand and Reputation is accountable for delivering high quality and on-target communications, marketing campaigns and experiences, in support of Fonterra’s overall business strategy. As a business unit we are responsible for driving a wide range of initiatives that enhance and protect our Co-op’s reputation, as well as supporting the heart of our Co-op, our farmers.

The opportunity

Join Fonterra as Senior Communications Manager and get the chance to lead strategic projects and partner with Executive Leaders within the business.

Reporting to the General Manager NZ Brand and Reputation, this is your opportunity to work with a high-performing cross-functional communications and marketing team to hone your corporate communications skills.

In this role you’ll take the lead on projects that demonstrate progress towards our 2030 ambitions and build long-term programmes of work to imbed stakeholder understanding of our strategic direction.

While you’ll be based in our Fanshawe Street offices in the Auckland CBD, your role scope is as diverse and varied as our business. You’ll get to connect with stakeholders about the length and breadth of New Zealand as well as collaborate with Fonterra’s global teams as we work on a shared strategy across the Co-op.

You’ll be a member of a team that has shared responsibilities to:

  • Lead proactive and reactive corporate communications activity to protect and enhance Fonterra’s reputation
  • Provide advice to senior stakeholders on effective engagement strategies across a range of audiences
  • Partner with marketing, media, digital, and employee engagement colleagues to ensure we are making the most of every opportunity
