We're looking for a commercially savvy Market Analyst with strong technical skills to join our team at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), New Zealand Government trade and investment agency.

The ideal candidate will build and provide knowledge expertise on topics relevant to accelerating growth of New Zealand business in a variety of sectors across Latin America, developing existing and new intellectual property, as well as simplifying complex information and data by creating straight forward research, presentations and insights to the team and New Zealand businesses.

To apply for this role, you must have: 

  • Permit to work in São Paulo, where the role is based;
  • Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred);
  • 2+ years minimum relevant experience. Experience as a data scientist would be advantageous;
  • Thorough understanding of statistical modelling and technical systems e.g. Power BI, Tableau; Carto; etc
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English required, Spanish is a bonus;
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders while working in a global collaborative team environment.

This is a hybrid role which requires you to work from the São Paulo office 3 days a week.

Office location: Avenida Paulista.   

What you will be doing: 

As a Regional Market Analyst you will be an essential part of our Solutions team. You will serve as a thought partner and content expert to New Zealand businesses, sector leaders and the wider NZTE team in Latin America.

The purpose of this role is to help companies make informed, mission-critical decisions on how to best enter or expand in specific markets and sectors in the region.

You’ll play an integral role in scoping market opportunities for diverse organisations through the revision of existing research and/or production of high-quality new intellectual property and knowledge assets that verify assumptions and identify potential pitfalls, helping companies achieve greater success. 

You will conduct market research and analysis activities, maintain a repository of information and insights, as well as leading the relationship of Expert Marketplaces for the region.  

You will be responsible for identifying, liaising, negotiating and maintaining relationship with specific database and research providers in the region.

Working proactively with a variety of stakeholders, you’ll be hunting for knowledge, trends, and insights to benefit companies across the region in their commercial aims.   

What you will need to be successful: 

  • Be a deep listener, who takes time to really understand the goals of New Zealand businesses and their goals, allowing you to provide comprehensive future-proofed solutions.
  • Be meticulous in nature, adept at ensuring data reflects outcomes via statistical models
  • Framing, structuring, and sharing intellectual property, with the ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Solve business problems and challenges through formulating relevant research and/or analytical approaches in different markets/sectors across Latin America
  • Excel at presenting commercial insights visually to a range of audiences, technical and non-technical alike.  
  • Develop relationships at the senior level, working with and presenting to c-suite stakeholders who will utilise your insights and recommendations to craft actionable market strategies.  
  • Have an enthusiastic, 'can-do' attitude, proactive nature, and ability to work in virtual teams in agile ways of working
  • Be flexible and bring a curious mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas
  • Have time management and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously

This role has a monthly salary range of R$ 10,500 – R$11,750 + health insurance.
