Head of Intervention Design & Regulatory Policy
We are the Financial Markets Authority - Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko.
As New Zealand's financial markets conduct regulator, we're looking to create something special. In fact, we believe our approach to regulating financial markets will be a world first. You'll be helping New Zealanders to have confidence that our financial sector provides a strong foundation for their financial future.
As an organisation, we have an expanding remit that will cover new regulatory ground and we're embarking on an exciting time of growth. Your expertise as a senior regulatory policy leader grounded with pragmatism and sector knowledge will help us develop interventions and regulatory approaches that achieve the intended outcomes for consumers and financial markets.
You will use your extensive regulatory experience to establish a new Intervention Design team, working with your FMA colleagues to build ambitious, creative, and practical end-to-end strategies to deliver the FMA's strategic objectives and operational priorities, articulating how and where we should deploy the full range of our regulatory tools right across the financial sector to support a fairer financial system that works well for all New Zealanders.
You will also lead our established regulatory policy team which provides input into the FMA's strategic and operational policy; develops guidance; manages legislative tools; and leads the FMA's input to government on financial services law reform, from problem definition to implementation.
So what's it like to work at the FMA?
It's purposeful. Our mission is to create a fair and transparent financial sector that serves all New Zealanders. We are looking for people with a strong sense of collaboration and fair play.
It's stimulating. We need to be thinkers and initiators. We're looking for team players with the drive, skills, intellect and forward thinking to stay ahead in this fast-moving sector.
It's supportive. We have a culture that allows everyone to bring their best selves to work. We value people with ambition, open-mindedness and a strong orientation towards helping others.
We will need your excellent leadership and influencing skills to lead a talented team of policy and regulatory experts and engage with a wide range of people internally and externally, including across other regulatory authorities and the financial services sector.
By fostering fair, efficient and transparent financial markets - our role (and yours) is to ensure better outcomes for investors, consumers, and the New Zealand economy. Will you join us?
