Reporting to the CEO, this role plays a critical role in devising the organisational strategy and the introduction of innovation and new ways of working. Working in tandem with the North and South Island General Managers and the Commercial General Manager, your experience leading high-performing and experienced teams will be pivotal in guiding national construction methods, environmental and sustainability practices, and integrating emerging technologies into our business and delivery.

We continue to stay at the cutting edge of the industry, and as a reflection of this you'll have the Manager of Modern Methods of Construction reporting to you. We are not only big on leading the way in how we construct, but also in our commitment to the environment. As such the Manager of Environmental and Sustainability, will also be a direct report. You will work with them to ensure all operations align with the highest standards of sustainability and environmental care.

Working collaboratively with both the North and South Island General Managers, you will have direct leadership of national construction methods for our business, along with leading environmental and sustainability practices. For this reason, you will require extensive knowledge and experience in leading commercial construction practices at a senior or executive level while also implementing emerging technologies and sustainability adaptations.

This is an exceptional opportunity to both drive and enjoy impactful change.

You'll be responsible for the following areas:

  • Leading national construction methodology, environmental and sustainability practices, and modern methods of construction across our business and teams
  • Thought leadership. Providing expertise and recommendations to improve project efficiencies and strategic planning, staying at the forefront of industry best practice and advancement
  • Collaboration with divisional managers and consultation with regional business units on complex bids, identifying risks and opportunities. Being available to lead and engage with these teams
  • Mentoring teams, sharing your knowledge, and encouraging a learning environment that supports continued improvement and innovation
  • Championing innovative construction tools, practices, and trends to improve efficiency and meet the holistic needs of the business and our clients

What you'll bring:

  • At least 15 years in senior management within the commercial construction sector, with a pedigree in developing operational excellence and innovative ways of working
  • A relationship-led approach, with the ability to foster productive partnerships and build a collaborative culture
  • The drive to always look at continuous improvement for our operations. The motivation to drive positive change in the industry, with a strong understanding of Modern Methods of Construction and sustainability practices
  • Proven experience in developing both short-term and long-term strategic plans
  • Sound financial management skills within a large organizational environment, and project environment

Shape the future with Naylor Love, and your next chapter.

This is more than a job; it is an opportunity to lead and inspire, to build legacies, and to make a tangible difference in the construction landscape. Impact and improve ways of working from how we build and the impact of building on the environment in the longer term
