Port Nelson Ltd is the maritime gateway for the Nelson Marlborough region – a vital hub for economic activity and a key stakeholder in the region’s continued growth and prosperity.
Reporting to the CEO and a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the General Manager Infrastructure, Maintenance and Environment is responsible for leading and driving a high-performance culture across the management of the Port’s half a billion dollars worth of assets, ensuring operational efficiency of plant and upholding responsibilities for environmental protection and sustainability.
Providing positive and inspiring leadership for a diverse team of specialists, you will be responsible for developing, delivering and communicating strategic plans for your divisions that align with Port Nelson Ltd's strategic direction. This includes major capital and maintenance projects, optimisation of infrastructure, plant and equipment, carbon reduction and conservation initiatives.
An exciting and broad role, your remit covers a variety of assets including commercial property, buildings, plant, pavements, slipway and wharf operations. You will build strong relationships with the SMT, other internal teams, the Board and externally with neighbours, iwi, local government and other environmental stakeholder groups.
To be successful in this role, our preferred candidate will be an experienced senior leader with a background developing and maintaining large commercial assets and infrastructure. You will have a relevant engineering qualification, or considerable experience in this field.
